Old granaries at the Market Square and Aittatori bring together with the Market Hall (1901) the history of Oulu market square present. They were originally used as warehouses for e.g. salt. The granaries are built and used since the 18th and 19th centuries. Today they have turned into unique restaurants and cafeterias as well as handicrafts boutiques.

The granaries themselves are worthwhile to take a closer look at, and they give an extra something to the market square milieu. Oulu market square is in the summer one of the numer 1 spots in the city.
